La Presse: “Toilets Out to Conquer America”

“Find me someone who enjoys cleaning toilets!”
That’s how Alain Bolduc greeted the reporter from La Presse.

An hour later, she had the idea: small pavilions that wash themselves between uses — floor included —, a door that locks during the cleaning cycle, and a dashboard that tells you when the paper is running low. No cleaning crew, no unit taped shut at 2 p.m.

The story also spends time on design. Case in point: our units at Montréal-Trudeau airport, dressed in the city’s own colours. Because a public restroom doesn’t have to be an eyesore.

Above all, it tells how something that started in Boisbriand back in 2010 now sits in roughly 150 public spaces across North America — with New York, Chicago and Los Angeles knocking at the door.
